Workplace harassment and bullying situations within the workplace are never enjoyable to handle. On the one hand you have the complainant, whose grievances have resulted in action to be undertaken. And on the other you have the person being accused who, with little doubt, will be upset and/or angry at the accusation, regardless of guilt. In between them is yourself, who must try and establish what has been going on and as well as handle the process and expectations on behalf of the company.
Given the nature of the complaint, and your relationship to one or both of the parties involved, you or your manager may decide to enlist a third party to conduct the investigation process.
Would you know how to handle this request? Do you know what the investigation processes are so that you can ensure your actions, and those of others, cannot effect the overall investigation?
Our Security and Investigations training company, The Australian Institute for Security & Investigation Training (AISIT) , has a Workplace Harassment and Bullying Investigation Awareness workshop, which provides professional standards personnel, managers and human resource professionals with an understanding of the investigation process, enabling them to triage and conduct preliminary investigations into a complaint, without risking the integrity of the overall investigation to be conducted.
This workshop will provide you with the skills and knowledge required for any future situations that may arise, ensuring you can assist in an efficient investigation the next time.
If you feel this is the type of workshop that could be of assistance to you in your current role, or for a current employee, then please contact AISIT on 1300 124 748 or you can email us on enquiries@aisit.com.au
