Peter Moroney brings more than 25 years of experience to National Workplace Investigations. Commencing as a member of the NSW Police Force in 1994, Peter has been involved in and managed various criminal and administrative investigations including corruption, fraud and reportable conduct. He is regarded as an expert in these fields and is frequently requested to discuss matters on national television and radio.
Professional Background and Leadership
Peter brings extensive experience in investigations, having served with the NSW Police's Terrorism Investigation Squad from 2002 to 2009. In this role, he was instrumental in managing and conducting terrorism-related investigations, often collaborating with the Australian Federal Police and various international intelligence agencies. In 2008, Peter co-founded the Nemesis Consultancy Group with his father, Ken Moroney AO APM MA, where he currently serves as the Director of Investigations & Risk. Under his leadership, Nemesis has experienced significant growth, specialising in risk management, online investigations, surveillance, and various investigative services. The company's capabilities have recently expanded to encompass National Workplace Investigations, Child Safe Specialists Australia (CSSA), and The Australian Institute of Security and Investigation Training (AISIT).
Expertise and Contributions
Peter is adept at managing complex investigations that require oversight from government bodies such as the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Ombudsman. He is also experienced in handling matters related to public interest disclosures (PID) through National Workplace Investigations, which is recognised as an approved provider for numerous local, state, and federal government panels. In addition to his hands-on experience, Peter served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Charles Sturt University, specialising in Investigation Management and Investigative Interviewing. He has designed and delivered tailored training programs for Federal, State and Local regulatory and compliance agencies. Peter's leadership at the Nemesis Group ensures a unique and expert service offering in audit, investigations, risk management, prevention, and accredited training, catering to the diverse needs of departments and businesses alike.

Ken Moroney AO APM MA, co-founder of National Workplace Investigations was the NSW Commissioner of Police from 2002 to 2007. He has an extensive track record of 42 years in the Police Force. Ken has been commended and awarded frequently for his outstanding leadership abilities. With around 20,000 personnel, the NSW Police Force is one of the largest in the world.

Renowned for his outstanding leadership abilities, Ken has received numerous commendations and awards throughout his tenure. Under his leadership, the NSW Police Force, one of the largest in the world with around 20,000 personnel, saw significant advancements and improvements.
Post-Retirement Contributions
Since retiring from the Police Force in 2007, Ken founded Nemesis, where he has continued to share his expertise across various fields. He chairs several boards, including the Australian Graduate School of Police Management and the New South Wales Police Command College, as well as advising on national projects with the Federal Attorney General’s Department. Additionally, Ken holds a position on the Board of Directors for the New South Wales Police Credit Union and is involved with multiple organisations, including the State Parole Authority and the Law Enforcement Advisory Panel for the United Nations and World Bank Project.
Emergency Management and Education
Ken has significant experience in managing emergency recovery operations following natural disasters, including the Thredbo landslide disaster and NSW bushfires. Most recently, he served as the Regional Emergency Recovery Coordinator for the Mid and Far North Coast flood recovery effort in 2009. Within Nemesis, he has conducted several major reviews assessing security management and operational protocols. Ken holds various tertiary qualifications, including an Honoris Causa Doctorate from Charles Sturt University and a Master of Arts from Macquarie University, underscoring his commitment to education and professional development.
